LAINIE KAZAN returns to Feinstein's At Loews Regency 10/5-9

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine, and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, continues its Fall 2010 season with the return engagement of stage and screen star Lainie Kazan from October 5 - 9. Her new show will include songs from her multi-decade career including "The Music That Makes Me Dance" from her Broadway debut in Funny Girl and standards "Over the Rainbow," "I Didn't Know What Time It Was" and other selections from the Great American Songbook. All performances will be at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Lainie Kazan is an entertainer who has taken the journey from Barbra Streisand's Broadway understudy in Funny Girl to her upcoming series of appearances on ABC-TV hit "Desperate Housewives" starting on September 26. Along the way she visited virtually every top variety and talk show in network television, including an unparalleled 26 appearances on "The Dean Martin Show." She even hosted her own variety special for NBC and opened the popular "Lainie's Room" and "Lainie's Room East" at the Los Angeles and New York Playboy Clubs.

Her magnetism attracted film directors and producers, leading her quickly into acting roles on the silver screen. After Francis Ford Coppola saw her perform at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, he cast her in One From The Heart. In 1983, Lainie received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Richard Benjamin's My Favorite Year, starring Peter O'Toole. Other films include Lust in the Dust with Tab Hunter and Divine, Delta Force with Chuck Norris, Beaches with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey and Harry and the Hendersons directed by Steven Spielberg.

Additional credits include the Disney film The Cemetery Club, 29th Street with Danny Aiello, The Associate with Whoopi Goldberg, Love is All There Is with Renee Taylor, Angelina Jolie and Paul Sorvino; The Big Hit with Mark Wahlberg, Whiskey School, an independent feature also starring Olympia Dukakis and Mary Stuart Masterson; and the feature Red Riding Hood, a musical retelling of the classic story from director Randal Kleiser (Grease). Lainie was recently seen alongside Adam Sandler is his comedy smash hit You Don't Mess With the Zohan. She co-stars with Linda Gray and Elliot Gould in the independent film Expecting Mary which opens this fall.

Lainie received critical acclaim for her role in the blockbuster comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding, which has grossed over $600 million worldwide and won the People's Choice Award. She reprised her role in CBS' "My Big Fat Greek Life" TV series. She starred in "The Engagement Ring" for TNT, with Patricia Heaton, Vincent Spano, and Tony Lo Bianco.

Lainie also stormed series television, receiving an Emmy Award nomination for "St. Elsewhere" and a Cable ACE Award nomination for "The Paper Chase." Ms. Kazan recently had two recurring TV roles on "Til Death," starring alongside Joely Fisher and Brad Garrett, and "Ugly Betty" with Vanessa Williams, America Ferrera and Judith Light. She has also guest starred on "Will & Grace" as Grace's Aunt Honey. She has been featured on "Beverly Hills 90210" and has had recurring roles as Aunt Frieda on "The Nanny," and as Dottie, Kirstie Alley's mom, on "Veronica's Closet." She also starred in a children's special, "Safety Patrol," a made for television movie by "The Wonderful World of Disney." She co-starred with Virginia Madsen in the Lifetime Original Movie Tempted.

On Broadway, she reprised her role in the musical version of My Favorite Year, which won her a Tony Award nomination, and has also starred on Broadway in The Government Inspector with Tony Randall, and the award winning drama The Exonerated, as well as The Vagina Monologues. She recently starred in the Broadway hit comedy, Bermuda Avenue Triangle, co-starring Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna in Los Angeles.

She continues to sing across the country at venues such as Harrah's Casino, The McCallum Theatre in Palm Springs, the Plush Room in San Francisco and Catalina Bar and Grill in Los Angeles. She has sung with such symphonies as the Boston Pops, the Palm Beach Pops and the Cleveland Symphony, to name just a few. FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present Lainie Kazan from October 5 to 9 with the following schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 PM; and Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM and 10:30 PM. Performances have a $60.00 cover with $75.00 premium seats available, in addition to a $40.00 food and beverage minimum.
