March is the month to celebrate with Karen Mason!

At 7pm every Sunday and Monday during the month of March, Karen will return to the legendary cabaret Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street), to the very room that she and Nancy LaMott opened in l982. Mason at Mama's in March is her brand new show with great new arrangements of classics, new songs and some of the music she and her longtime composer/arranger Brian Lasser performed in those early days at Mama's. This engagement will culminate in a special Birthday Celebration on Monday, March 30th. Mason at Mama's In March will be directed by Barry Kleinbort, with Musical Direction and Accompaniment by Christopher Denny.

In addition, Karen will be celebrating March is Cabaret Month in New York City by hosting the MAC Awards Show at B.B. King's Blues Club (237 West 42nd Street) on Thursday, March 26th. Karen is a ten-time MAC Award winner herself, and won the MAC Award for Major Female Vocalist for six consecutive years.

Karen is an acclaimed actress/singer who has starred on Broadway, Off Broadway, on television and recordings, and "has few peers when it comes to ripping the roof off with her amazing voice that knows no bounds!" (TheatreScene.net) "No one in cabaret walks the line between humor and sorrow, joy and despair as nimbly as Karen Mason. She can switch emotional tone from one to the next in a flash, before the listener fully realizes what happened." (Chicago Sun-Times). Her highly-acclaimed recordings include her newest single, "It's About Time," written by Paul Rolnick and Shelly Markham.
