Joey Contreras to Take the Stage at Rockwood Music Hall

Musical theatre and pop songwriter Joey Contreras is returning to Rockwood Music Hall's Stage 2 on Monday, June 11 for a 9pm concert. Joining him will be an exciting lineup including Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon), DeLaney Westfall (Kinky Boots), Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture), JJ Niemann (The Book of Mormon), Olivia Puckett (Dear Evan Hansen), Brad Greer (Jerry Springer the Opera), Mia Gerachis, Rob Morean, Stevi Incremona, Morgan Reilly and Spencer Kiely with Brian Russell Carey (Red Roses, Green Gold) and Jacob Yates.

Audiences can expect an acoustic taste of selections off of Joey's upcoming album, Joyride, as well as material from his two previous albums: Love Me, Love Me Not and Young Kind of Love.

Joey Contreras is a 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist with bookwriter/lyricist Kate Thomas on their musicals Ring Around (Provincetown Playhouse, Tisch, IWU, O'Neill NMTC Finalist) and Forget Me Not (The Dare Tactic, dir. Catie Davis). He also wrote the music and lyrics for the 2016 Disney Junior animated short, "Kiwi's First Flight," featured in the series, "Lights, Camera, Lexi!" He is an alumnus from the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (2010 ASCAP Max Dreyfus Scholarship Recipient) and the 2017 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project.
