Jason Robert Brown Returns to Birdland 3/31 - 4/4
Jim Caruso's Cast Party has announced that Jason Robert Brown, the award-winning composer/lyricist (Parade, The Last Five Years) will be returning to Broadway at Birdland for a five (5) night engagement (March 31-April 4) that will feature new material from the past five years. Brown will be joined by Lauren Kennedy (The Last Five Years), as well as many other singers with whom he has worked.
Jason Robert Brown has been hailed as "one of Broadway's smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim" (Philadelphia Inquirer), and his "extraordinary, jubilant theater music" (Chicago Tribune) has been heard all over the world, whether in one of the hundreds of productions of his musicals every year or in his own incendiary live performances.
The New York Times refers to Jason as "a leading member of a new generation of composers who embody high hopes for the American musical."
Performances are Tuesday through Saturday, March 31- April 4 at 7PM. Tickets are $35 for General seating and $50 for Premium seating and may be obtained by calling (212) 581-3080 or online at www.birdlandjazz.com. There will be a $10 food/drink minimum.
