Jim Caruso's Cast Party and TheaterMania.com are proud to announce the Grammy nominated musical-theater team of Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid Monday, March 24, 2008 at 7PM as part of the long-running, critically-heralded and popular concert series Broadway at Birdland.

For their Birdland debut Heitzman and Reid will be joined by many of Broadway's finest performers - Judy McLane (Mamma Mia!), Klea Blackhurst (Everything the Traffic Will Allow), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins), Danielle Greaves (Hairspray), Beth Malone (Ring of Fire), Q Smith (Les Misérables), Joi Danielle Price (Mamma Mia!), Devin Richards (The Pajama Game) and many others including the reunion of the three fabulous "BINGO!" Broads, Liz McCartney (Taboo), Liz Larsen (Hairspray), and Janet Metz (Fiddler).

Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid's writing was last featured in the Off-Broadway hit, "BINGO!". Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid's Birdland debut will include an evening of songs from past shows, trunk songs and some new material. Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid will also unveil songs from their new work in progress.

Michael Heitzman is a Grammy Nominated songwriter of "Throw That Girl Around", from the Broadway Musical Swing!.  His first musical, Vices, received 8 Jefferson Award nominations, including "Best New Work", and his role as "Best Director." He and Reid have written for the NBC series "Just Deal".  Their sitcom "Scott Free", developed with Barbra Streisand's production company Barwood Films and Kelsey Grammer's production company Grammnet, was purchased by Paramount Pictures. Michael Heitzman's songs have been included on several film soundtracks, and he appeared opposite Glenne Headley in the HBO film "And The Band Played On".

Ilene Reid is a Grammy Nominated songwriter of "Throw That Girl Around", from the Broadway Musical Swing! Reid has also been nominated for several Outstanding Female Jazz Vocalist awards by the Manhattan Association of Cabaret. Her song "Dinosaur Swing" can be heard on "Sing Me A Story", the recently released children's record from Warner Brothers recording artist Bob McGrath of "Sesame Street" and her composition "Whadify" was featured on the famous Season 4 "Promicide" episode of Dawson's Creek. Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid's Vices received 8 Jefferson Award nominations which included Reid's performance as "Featured Vocalist".
