There's nothing Mark Pulham loves more than telling a good story with a good message. Back by popular demand as part of SCERA's monthly puppet series, he will deliver another entertaining puppet show on Saturday, May 18 at the SCERA Center for the Arts. The beloved veteran storyteller, puppeteer, musician, librarian, singer and actor has been spreading good stories and an even greater amount of cheer around the valley for years.

Pulham's witty musical shows that are filled with clever stories and plenty of hilarious improvisation. He'll be joined by former student, Jason Warren, for a puppet show themed "Nobody is Perfick" - mispelled on purpose! Through a series of fun-filled shorts, Mark and Jason will explore the plight of perfection, overcoming discouragement, hanging on, and running this race called life!

Pulham says, "The message is that when life gets to be too much, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. It's a great lesson packaged in humor and done through the arts of puppetry....perfect for kids and adults."

"Nobody is Perfick" will be a 45-minute show, held on Saturday, Ma 18 @ 11:0am at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State Street in Orem. Tickets are $3.00 for ages 3 and older.

Tickets may be purchased 30 minutes prior to the show at the door, or in advance from 10am-6pm weekdays and Saturdays from 12Noon-6pm at SCERA's main office, by calling (801) 225-ARTS or online at www.scera.org.

Mark retired a few years ago after 30 years as a popular elementary school teacher, where, says SCERA President & CEO Adam J. Robertson, "I'm sure he honed many of the skills needed to capture the attention of children!"

Pulham works and has performed his master puppetry at the Orem Public Library, and is a frequent guest performer at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, where he is known for his creative and comical style. Also an accomplished actor, he has played the role of Bob Cratchit for many years at the Hale Center Theater Orem, as well as roles at SCERA including two recent Theatre for Young Audiences productions including Mr. Lambchop in "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" and the Knight in "The Reluctant Dragon" (which of course featured puppets!)

Pulham is known for his fun-loving style, an uncanny ability for improvisation and catchy songs kids and parents will remember long after the show is over.

SCERA's Puppet Shop program is under the direction of Nat Reed, and offers puppetry classes for kids, and also serves as host of the annual Utah Puppetry Guild Festival.
