EWonline reports that production on the fifth and final season of FOX's FRINGE has been halted due to a health issue for series star John Noble.

According to the report, Noble is receiving medical treatment for an "unspecified sleeping disorder." Earlier this week, the actor was a no-show at a panel at the Television Critics Association Press Tour.

Production on the series is set to start up again on August 7th and will reportedly not delay the season premiere date.

Noble stars as scientist Walter Bishop in the J. J. Abrams television series Fringe. He has also appeared in the TV series All Saints and '24.' and is internationally known for his performance as Denethor in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
