Penobscot Theatre Welcomes Gideon Emery to SURVIVOR TYPE Film Premiere Tonight, 8/26

By:

The Penobscot Theatre Company has announced that actor Gideon Emery will be attending the world premiere of Survivor Type, a brand new short film based upon Stephen King's classic short story of the same name.

"Gideon's performance in this film is truly amazing," says Brad LaBree, Community Engagement Coordinator for Penobscot Theatre Company. "We're very excited to have both the lead actor and filmmaker Billy Hanson join us for this first ever screening. We're also pleased to be having both men participating in a question and answer session with the audience following the film. It's a tremendous opportunity for Stephen King fans to get 'behind-the scenes' in the film industry at the Bangor Opera House on Sunday, August 26."

Survivor Type is the story of a man pushed to his limits and beyond simply in order to survive, and was adapted for the screen and directed by Hanson, a Maine native.

The 39-year-old Emery, a seasoned actor and veteran of multiple Hollywood films, is best known for his role as a Russian mobster in 2010's Takers alongside Matt Dillon. He has appeared in numerous hit television series including Burn Notice, 24, and CSI: New York as well as compiling an impressive list of voice acting credits in some of the biggest selling video games of all time.

The premiere is being presented as a fundraiser with all proceeds benefitting Penobscot Theatre Company, a mainstay of the Eastern Maine arts scene for nearly four decades. The premiere is set for tonight, August 26. Doors open at 6:00pm. Tickets are on sale at the Bangor Opera House box office, 131 Main Street in Bangor, for $10 each. For ticket information, call the box office at 207-942-3333.

Survivor Type contains MATURE CONTENT. Attendance RESTRICTED to ages 18+.
