B ehind the Revolutionary Musical Expected to Sweep the Tonys -
Hamilton! It's the Broadway smash musical about America's founding father Alexander
Hamilton that is expected to sweep the
TONY AWARDS this year. The show has already taken home the Pulitzer Prize in "Drama" and the Grammy for "Best Musical Theatre" album. Good luck getting tickets, though: the show is always sold-out. Since you can't see the show, we'll give you a special treat- an inside look at the making of the musical.
It's all in a new book titled Hamilton: The Revolution, written by the show's creator and lead performer Lin-Manuel Miranda, and theater critic Jeremy McCarter, and it contains the play's complete libretto, as well as an account of how the groundbreaking hip-hop musical came to be. We look at the evolution of the revolution called Hamilton with the help of McCarter, who shares what it was like to be in THE ROOM when history was made.
