Garden State Film Festival Comes to Cherry Hill
After moving to Atlantic City from Asbury Park in 2014, the Garden State Film Festival is conducting outreach into the Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia region to build a robust local audience for its 2015 event. It will partner with Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill Arts Board to present a "mini-fest" of some of the most critically and commercially acclaimed short films presented at the festival in recent years. The event will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Croft Farm Arts Center located at 100 Bortons Mill Road in Cherry Hill.
Slated for presentation are "Admissions," starring Academy Award nominee James Cromwell, set in Heavens waiting room it hypothesizes on the possibility of a lasting peace, through the intersecting lives of an Israeli couple and a Palestinian man. Irish film, "The Wednesdays," is an ironic and touching tale of how an elderly couple keep things young. Princeton native Bebe Neuwirth makes her directorial debut with "Jerome's Bouquet," a day in the life look at a meddling, and manipulative widow who tries to control her late husband's flower shop, her daughter, and everyone she comes in contact with. "Un Peu Plus," with glorious cinematography shot on location in Paris, follows Mme. Rousseau who spends a perfect day sampling the delicious confections of the city's finest patisseries. Japanese film, "Miyuki's Wind Bells" is the journey of a young girl forced to leave her home in Tokyo, and bring her two young half-brothers to the country home of their quirky grandmother. "Death Taxes and Apple Juice," is a hilarious look at the complex lives of adults as perceived by children.|
