During Summer 2014, bolstered by the premieres of original movies "Zapped" and "How to Build a Better Boy" and the launch of original comedy series "Girl Meets World" - the summer's Top 3 telecasts across major youth demographics - Disney Channel swept Total Day for the 3rd-consecutive summer, ranking as TV's #1 network for the 3rd summer in a row in Kids 2-11 (822,000/2.1 rating), 6th in Kids 6-11 (592,000/2.5 rating) and 9th in Tweens 9-14 (509,000/2.1 rating), and was the #1 cable TV network for the 3rd summer in a row in Total Viewers (1.53 million).
Competitively, Disney Channel surpassed Nickelodeon by double digits for the 6th-straight summer in Tweens 9-14 (+58% - 509,000 vs. 323,000 - 2nd-largest advantage ever) and 3rd in Kids 6-11 (+31% - 592,000 vs. 453,000) and led by 2% in Kids 2-11 (822,000 vs. 804,000). In Prime, Disney Channel qualified as TV's #1 network for the 15th-consecutive summer in Tweens (688,000/2.8 rating) and 12th straight in Kids 2-11 (1.05 million/2.7 rating) and Kids 6-11 (814,000/3.4 rating). The premiere of original movie "Zapped" (6/27/14, 8:00 - 9:45 p.m.) was the #1 TV telecast across Kids 2-11 (3.95 million/10.0 rating), Kids 6-11 (3.15 million/13.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.87 million/11.9 rating) and was the #1 cable TV movie in Total Viewers (5.78 million).
