According to TVLine.com, actor Cuba Gooding Jr. is set to star in Fox's upcoming drama pilot GUILTY. The project marks Gooding's first acting role on network TV. The drama will be produced by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.
The Oscar-winner will portray William "Billy" Remz, described as "a brilliant, morally questionable defense attorney who has been falsely convicted of fraud and stripped of his legal license." Remz will employ "unorthodox methods to solve the cases he’s been prohibited from handling and to exact revenge on those who set him up."
Cuba Gooding Jr.'s breakout role was in John Singleton's "Boyz N the Hood." He subsequently appeared in such major films as "A Few Good Men," "Men of Honor," "Pearl Harbor," "As Good As It Gets" and "American Gangster." In 1996 he starred in Cameron Crowe's "Jerry Maguire," which earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. He also stars in George Lucas' "Red Tails," which tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.
