The film, directed by Allan Seidelman, follows an elderly woman (Gina Rowlands) who hires a much younger - and much more energetic - dance instructor (Jackson) to give her one-on-one lessons for six weeks. Throughout the weeks and lessons, they develop an intimate friendship, putting aside their differences, and opening up to each other.

The story is based on Alfieri's play, which opened on Broadway in 2003 and has since received productions in 20 countries, becoming a regional and international hit with audiences.

Jackson's next projects include HBO's Behind The Candelabra with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon and working as host of The Onion Presents: The News, as well as the movies Mutual Friends, Lucky Stiff and Beautiful Now. Other TV credits include 30 Rock, GLEE and more.

Jackson most recently appeared on Broadway in The Performers and has taken the stage in Finian's Rainbow, Xanadu, The 24 Hour Plays 2005, On the Twentieth Century, All Shook Up, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Aida, as well as off-Broadway's Damn Yankees.
