Ben Stiller to Direct WALTER MITTY Film

Stage and screen star Ben Stiller, who was previously announced to star in 20th Century Fox's remake of 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,' will also direct the project, according to Variety. The film will feature a screenplay by Steve Conrad.

Stiller has written, starred in, directed, and/or produced over 50 films including Heavyweights, There's Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Tropic Thunder and Greenberg. In addition, he has had multiple cameos in music videos, television shows, and films.

Stiller made his Broadway debut in the revival of John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves, alongside John Mahoney. He recently starred in the 2011 revival of the same show opposite Edie Falco

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a 1947 comedy film, loosely based on the short story of the same name by James Thurber. It stars Danny Kaye as a young daydreaming editor for a book publishing firm. The film was adapted for the screen by Ken Englund, Everett Freeman, and Philip Rapp, and directed by Norman Z. McLeod.
