Adele's SKYFALL Theme Song is 'Classic 007'
Showbiz411 got an exclusive first listen to the highly-anticipated theme song for the upcoming James Bond film SKYFALL. The song was recorded by Grammy winning artist Adele. The web site describes the tune as "classic 007 in the manner of the best Bond songs of the past. It’s an ominous, dramatic ballad, with lots of gorgeous horn flourishes peeking out through Adele’s now trademark vocals." Adele and Sony Music are set to launch the single during the first week of October.
In addition, the site released parts of the chorus, “Let the sky fall/Let it crumble/We will stand tall/And face it all/together” and the introductory lines, which follow a piano solo, “This is the end/Hold your breath and count to ten/Feel the Earth move and then/Hear my heart burst again.”
The recording marks Adele's first new music since her multi-million selling second album '21' was released back in January of 2011. '21' was the fastest-selling album in eight years and swept every category it was nominated for at the Grammy Awards, including nods for Album, Record and Song of the year. The singer teased that she would be behind the Bond theme song last year on a visit to Jonathan Ross' talk show commenting, "I'm going back in the studio in November, fingers crossed. Well, this is actually a theme, that I've got to do. Wow, that's really giving something away."The singer follows a long line of award-winning musicians who have sung a Bond theme song including Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey, Duran Duran, Tina Turner, Tom Jones and Madonna.Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond along with Naomie Harris, Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem, is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 26, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise.
