The list of distinctions continues to grow. Lauded for its excellence in years past by such noted media as Outside Magazine, Ski Magazine and The Today Show, Jackson Hole's Bentwood Inn (http://www.bentwoodinn.com/) has been named the #2 B&B in the country by the editors of Harper's Bazaar.
Recognized for its rustic and "cozy" log cabin luxury just a few miles from Grand Teton National Park and the ski lifts of Jackson Hole, the inn stands apart from others on the list because of its access to nature, wildlife and surrounding scenic beauty.
Innkeepers Bob & Virginia Schrader, who lovingly provide a high level of pampering and service to each Bentwood guest, were honored by the accolade, "We're thrilled to have been selected by Harper's Bazaar as one of the best B&B's in the country. Our guests come from all over the country to experience Jackson Hole and we're here to help ensure their stay is perfect in every way; from assisting with activity reservations, to keeping the cookie jar filled and in-room fireplaces roaring."
A record-setting 2015 ski season is well underway and with 277" inches of snowfall already this season, Jackson Hole leads the nation in snow totals by major resort (the closest second is Breckenridge, Colorado with 210"). This is a four-season inn that in winter (now through early April) offers a number of specials to attract active guests, including a Ski Season Special: pay for four nights and stay for five.
All-inclusive room rates start at $239 per night during ski season. There is a two night-minimum stay. The inn has also brought back its Winter Ski & Lodge Package that includes luxurious nights in the classic log lodge, ski passes, one exclusive Bentwood Bistro dinner for two, an elk refuge sleigh ride, hearty full service breakfasts and more. Offered is a four-night package for two, priced at $1,495 per couple, plus tax and a five-night couple's package priced at $1,799 plus tax. This special runs to April 5, 2015. For the nature lover who prefers hiking trails over black diamond runs, The Bentwood Inn offers a Winter Wildlife Experience Package filled with active days and cozy, fire-lit nights. The three day/three night adventure starts each morning with a breakfast described by Frommer's travel guide as "hearty and sumptuous." The highlight of the stay is a guided half-day winter hike with a local naturalist to observe and learn how wildlife in Jackson Hole not only survive but thrive in winter conditions.
The package, priced for couples, is $899 plus tax for two and includes three nights at the Inn, a four-course Bentwood Bistro dinner for two, healthy breakfasts, evening social hour with appetizers and the guided backcountry adventure (all equipment provided).
"We strive to tailor our services into providing a personalized stay at the Inn," explains Keith Sproule, owner. "If we have guests who are snowshoeing or skiing, we have boot warmers to send them off in the morning, and hot appetizers and wine upon return. Under Chef Bob, our Bistro Dinners have become a "must" for guests who savor his elk, buffalo and trout cuisine."
