YOSHIKI and Josh Groban to Release New Recording of FOREVER LOVE
Groban sings new English lyrics penned by YOSHIKI before performing the song's original Japanese verses with orchestra.
Yoshiki and Josh Groban have united for a new recording of 'Forever Love,' arriving worldwide this Friday, August 28.
One of Japan's most iconic and enduring ballads, 'Forever Love' has resonated with generations of listeners in Japan and throughout Asia. In this new recording, captured live at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Yoshiki reimagines his celebrated composition for piano, orchestra, and voice. Groban performs a new English opening written by Yoshiki before singing the song's original Japanese and English lyrics.
More than a collaboration, the performance creates a rare cultural bridge: an enduring Japanese composition interpreted by two internationally acclaimed artists on one of the world's most prestigious concert stages.
'Josh brought extraordinary emotion and depth to 'Forever Love,'' Yoshiki said. 'Hearing him sing the song in perfect Japanese was deeply moving. This music has connected with people in Japan for many years, and I hope our performance carries its message of love to people around the world.'
'Yoshiki is an icon and 'Forever Love' is one of his most iconic songs. It was an honor and a joy to transcend language and genre with him and bring a new life to this beautiful song,' Groban said.
The performance was recorded on July 17, 2026, during the second of two sold-out concerts marking Yoshiki's debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall. With Yoshiki at the piano and backed by an orchestra, Groban's soaring vocals bring a powerful new dimension to the ballad while honoring its deeply Japanese emotional identity.
Originally written and composed by Yoshiki for X JAPAN and released in 1996, 'Forever Love' has become one of his most recognized and beloved works. Thirty years after its original release, its message of devotion, loss, and enduring love continues to resonate with listeners.
'Forever Love (Live)' by Yoshiki & Josh Groban will be available on digital platforms worldwide on August 28.
