UK's Fenne Lily Releases New Track CAR PARK Today

Fenne Lily has released her latest track "Car Park" today via BrooklynVegan. The song appears on her anticipated debut album, On Hold, out April 6, 2018. Listen and share "Car Park" here.

"I'll be the first to admit that my songs are far from uplifting," says Fenne, "but while 'Car Park' chronicles yet another period of false hope and turmoil, it was written following the realisation that damaging patterns are enabled and suffered by the passive. I cannot and will not blame my heartache on anyone but myself, so this isn't a song about pain, it's a song about power; about putting the ball in your own court; about knowing when to wave goodbye to the things that make you ache in order to make space for those that help you grow."

Not many young artists can count up a massive 20 million streams off the back of the first song they've ever written, but then again, not many young artists are Fenne Lily. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Laura Marling as well as the swooning sound of Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten and underground 1960s psychedelic greats like Linda Perhacs, that song, "Top To Toe," saw the young unknown attract global attention for her sublime songwriting ability and sharp emotional intelligence, as well as her gifted way with melody.

Now 20 years old and based in Bristol, Fenne Lily wrote the songs for On Hold in sporadic bursts. The album was recorded in Bristol and on the Isle of Wight with producers Tamu Massif and James Thorpe, as well as PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish, before then being mixed by Ali Chant who Fenne first worked with on Aldous Harding's critically acclaimed album Party, for which Fenne provided guest vocals.

Coinciding with the album's release, Fenne and her band will embark on a headline tour kicking off in Cardiff on April 6th.
