The Laurie Berkner Band Brings 'Greatest Hits Tour' to Manhattan, 10/17

Best-selling children's recording artist and preschool television favorite Laurie Berkner and The Laurie Berkner Band are thrilled to bring their "Greatest Hits Tour" home to Manhattan, with a family show at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17 in The Concert Hall at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street, New York, NY.

On their 2015 Greatest Hits Tour, The Laurie Berkner Band will showcase many Laurie Berkner fan favorites, including songs from both of Laurie's "Greatest Hits" albums: The Best of The Laurie Berkner Band and The Ultimate Laurie Berkner Band Collection, plus an array of other tunes that encourage kids to get up and dance. To give everyone a chance to catch their breath between high-energy moments, the show will also include quieter interludes, with songs from Laurie Berkner Lullabies.

With such popular numbers as "Victor Vito," "Drive My Car," "Mouse In My Toolbox," and "I'm Gonna Catch You," along with beloved songs like "Bumblebee (Buzz Buzz)," "We Are The Dinosaurs," and "Pig On Her Head," this all-ages show is sure to be one of the top family events of the year. Kids should plan to bring their dancing shoes and a stuffed animal (for their heads).

Dubbed "one of the hippest children's artists" by Family Fun Magazine, Laurie Berkner's original songs, albums, DVDs, music videos, and books leave no doubt: Laurie is the uncrowned queen of children's music and the power behind the progressive "kindie rock" movement.

Laurie Berkner was the first artist to ever appear in music videos on Nick Jr. and was featured in nearly all of the episodes of the channel's Jack's Big|Brave Music Show. She currently stars in the animated musical short-form series Sing It, Laurie! on the Sprout preschool channel and makes regular appearances on Sprout's Sunny Side Up Show. Laurie will release her tenth album, a two-disc recording titled Laurie Berkner's Favorite Classic Kids' Songs, on October 23.

A former preschool music teacher by day and indie rocker by night, Laurie Berkner started selling her music more than fifteen years ago out of her living room on her own label, Two Tomatoes Records.
