Filipino-American artist The Filharmonic will be featured in the 2015-2016 season of the Valley Performing Arts Center. The vibrant contemporary a capella group joins the ranks of Linda Ronstadt, Bobby McFerrin, Megan Hilty and Lea Salonga as being part of this season.

With Los Angeles as home base, The Filharmonic, is known as a band unique in their musical talent and cultural diversity. The group of Filipino-American youngsters were featured in NBC's hit musical competition, "The Sing-Off", made the semi-finals, finished the first "Sing-Off" National tour, and shared the stage with The Black Eyed Peas and Pentatonix.

The Filharmonic was part of the Universal Pictures hit movie, Pitch Perfect 2. The group was prominently featured riffing off with star Anna Kendrick on The Late Show with James Corden on CBS, the video of which has also become a viral hit on YouTube with over 12 million hits.

The group consists of six members: Vocalists VJ Rosales, Joe Caigoy, Trace Gaynor, and Barry Fortgang, Vocal Bass Jules Cruz, and Beat boxer Niko Del Rey. Their melodic vocal style exemplifies an urbanesque hip hop sound with 90's nostalgia. Their online presence through about 20 videos YouTube and their Facebook page has an established a fan base.

Tickets for The Filharmonic range from $27 - $40, with limited student seats at $12, and are available at http://www.valleyperformingartscenter.org.
