The Palace Theatre is ready for its 4th Annual Gala taking place this Friday, June 21st with this year's featured gala artists Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell. The gala event will begin at 6 p.m. with a VIP cocktail party in the Upper Lobby followed by the concert at 8 p.m on the HARMAN Stage. Tickets for the concert are still available at www.SCAlive.org. Gala tickets may be purchased by calling the Development Office at 203-517-3426.

Stamford-based HARMAN International will be awarded the Arts Ovation Award for their generous contribution of a brand new, state-of-the-art audio installation to the theatre last year. The Palace will also be awarding the fourth annual Emerging Young Artist Scholarship to Ridgefield High School's Elizabeth D'Aiuto. The presentations will take place at VIP cocktail party prior to the concert.

The Palace Theatre Gala is a benefit for the Palace Theatre and its Arts Education Programs. "The Gala is the theatre's signature event," said Executive Director Michael E. Moran, Jr. "Now in our fourth year, we wanted to do something a little outside the box. Presenting such a multi-faceted performer like Steve Martin (performing Bluegrass) seemed fitting given the variety of Arts Education programs we offer. Special thanks go out to our committee led by Chair, Lynn DiMenna for all their hard work on this 'Jeans & Jewels' themed evening."

Steve Martin and Edie Brickell released a new album entitled Love Has Come for You on April 23rd to rave reviews. Despite the fact that Martin and Brickell lived on opposite coasts, their working relationship quickly blossomed, with the two writing separately and exchanging digital files via email. The results of the pair's unconventional co-writing method are both organic and inspired, combining the gentle yet feisty humanity of Brickell's vocals with the effortless economy for Martin's banjo work. The performance will showcase the new material performed by Martin and Brickell, along with the unique hybrid of bluegrass and comedy that Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers have been delighting audiences at their sold-out, critically acclaimed shows.

Tickets for the Gala are $350. The monies raised support Arts Education programs such as the Triple Threat Performer Intensive, Young Choreographers Festival, summer and in-school-time performances on the HARMAN Stage and the annual Emerging Young Artist Scholarship awarded to a talented young artist in Fairfield County. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the event by calling Maureen in the Development Department at 203-517-3419.

Concert only tickets for Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell cost $175, $80 and $55. Tickets can be purchased atwww.SCAlive.org or by calling the Box Office at 203-325-4466. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Palace Theatre box office in downtown Stamford, CT.
