Sony/ATV Music Publishing UK has appointed Alastair Kinross to the position of Senior A&R Manager in its market-leading A&R department. Kinross, who takes up the role with immediate effect, is based in the company's London office and reports into Head of A&R, UK David Ventura.

His arrival follows the recent appointment to the department of Alex Sparks as A&R Manager and comes as Sony/ATV continues an uninterrupted run of what is currently 51 consecutive weeks as publisher or co-publisher of the U.K. No. 1 single. This feat includes chart-topping success with UK signings such as Ed Sheeran, Clean Bandit and James Arthur as well as global superstars including Drake, The Chainsmokers and Mike Posner.

David Ventura said: "We are delighted to have Alastair and Alex in the Sony/ATV family. They are very talented A&Rs with a great passion for music. We are all very excited for the future."

Alastair Kinross joins Sony/ATV after a four-and-a-half year spell at BMG where he was A&R and Creative Manager in the UK and then Director UK/US Songwriter Relations in Los Angeles from where he coordinated all UK writing trips to the West Coast.

Before that he worked for Universal Music Group in the UK for three years, which included roles at Decca Records and with Gary Barlow's company San Remo Publishing.

Among his signings are Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist M.I.A., Levi Lennox who co-wrote Zayn Malik's US and UK No. 1 single "Pillowtalk", Lady Leshurr, Tierks whose self-penned single "Sunshine" was a gold-certified, UK Top 20 hit, Shamir Honne and writer/producer ADP whose credits include the M.I.A. single "Borders" and Krept and Konan's "Freak Of The Week". He additionally signed Electric who co-wrote and produced Little Mix's UK No. 1 singles "Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex" and Fleur East's UK top three hit "Sax".

Alex Sparks' arrival at Sony/ATV follows a three-year period at Ministry of Sound where he was A&R consultant. His signings included Rhodes, Format B and Louis Cherry.
