The stage is set for Starbucks 21st Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz to once again delight Seattle-area jazz fans as the region's top young musicians come together for a special show at the Paramount Theatre. One hundred percent of ticket sales from the night's performance will directly benefit the music programs of the participating schools which this year includes: Edmonds-Woodway, Garfield, Mount Si, Mountlake Terrace, and Roosevelt. The show will be held on Friday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. Since its inception in 1995, Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz has raised more than $450,000 for participating schools' music programs.

"Hot Java Cool Jazz is a celebration of rising young talent and great jazz in our hometown," said Erin Combs, senior manager of community partnerships for Starbucks. "We are extremely proud of the opportunities Hot Java Cool Jazz has created over the years for young people in our community."

The critically needed funds raised through Hot Java Cool Jazz help the bands cover competition, equipment and travel costs. Total ticket sales are split among the performing bands. Last year's event raised more than $55,000 for local programs. In addition to Hot Java Cool Jazz, Starbucks supports local arts education through Seattle Theatre Group's More Music at the Moore and Dance This; and the new fan favorite Little Big Show at the Neptune Theatre.

Last year's show sold out, so fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance at the Paramount Theatre box office, online at stgpresents.org or surcharge-free at select Starbucks stores (listed below) for $22 (all ages). Proceeds from the tickets sold at the Starbucks store closest to each school will go to that school's music program.
