Replicating the music of The Band is a tall order. But interpreting the music of The Band is an art. Fans of the legendary rock group will hark back to the days when the influential and trailblazing group ruled the stage and the airwaves when The Weight take the SOPAC stage November 21st at 8pm. The Weight continues the musical legend with former members of The Band, Levon Helm Band and Rick Danko Group paying tribute to the music of what many consider one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Tickets are $27-$38 and can be purchased online at SOPACnow.org, or by calling the box office at (973) 313-2787.

In 2013, Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante were playing casually, operating under the name of "Songs of The Band." The two realized the potential of their collaboration and transitioned to a more official capacity. It wasn't hard for them to recruit the rest of the band members as they had all known each other, or played with each other somewhere over the decades, All of the Weight's members - Jim Weider on guitar , Randy Ciarlante on drums, Byron Isaacs on bass, and Brian Mitchell and Marty Grebb on keyboards - played with Levon Helm or the other founding members of the Band whom they survive.

With songs like "The Weight," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "It Makes No Difference," "This Wheel's on Fire" and more, The Weight will touch an older generation and inspire a new generation with the music that has reverberated across history.

The Weight performs at SOPAC November 21st at 8pm. Tickets are $27-$38, and can be purchased online at SOPACnow.org, or at the box office at (973) 313-2787.
