On Friday, Laura Stevenson's fifth full-length, The Big Freeze, will finally hit down on CD, LP, and digital download. Today, though, you can sustain yourself with the album's third single, "Dermatillomania," and a feature interview with Laura via Fader.
Melodically, "Dermatillomania" is the The Big Freeze's breeziest moment, with jangling guitar riffs that call back to '80s indie-pop. The sweetness of the hooks masks a darker sentiment, though -- a song about self-harm and the struggle to heal.
