Lauryn Hill, Jane's Addiction, Primus & More Set for Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas this Month

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, hailed by Las Vegas Weekly as an "80,000 square foot, multi-level temple of live music, bowling, food and drink," will fill its May calendar with a knockout lineup of some of the most highly-anticipated shows to date. The venue will host performances from an eclectic list of artists, including Jane's Addiction, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Primus, Twenty One Pilots, and Gogol Bordello.

Primus - Thurs, May 1, Fri, May 2, and Sat May 3

San Francisco-based rock band Primus has been creating some of the most cutting-edge and original rock music for more than two decades. Known for their fusion of diverse genres from punk rock and thrash to speed metal and funk, Primus continues to defy categorization in their high-energy shows. Gogol Bordello - Fri, May 2 and Sat, May 3

Gogol Bordello is a Gypsy punk band from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, formed in 1999 and known for theatrical stage shows. Much of the band's sound is inspired by Gypsy music. The band incorporates accordion and violin mixed with punk and dub. (show: 12:00 am / admission: $30)

Twenty One Pilots - Wed, May 7

Formed by Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun in Columbus, Ohio in 2009, Twenty One Pilots released their first full-length album, Vessel in 2013, after years of grassroots touring. Their first radio hit in the U.S., "Holding on to You", reached 11 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Known for their rap-infused high tech pop, Twenty One Pilots has quickly gained a dedicated fan base as they've made their way around the world in support of Vessel. Jane's Addiction - Thurs, May 8, Fri, May 9, and Sat, May 10

Jane's Addiction, widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in alternative rock, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark Nothing's Shocking album as well as the opening of Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in a 3-night concert event May 8-10, in which the band will perform the entire track listing of their acclaimed first studio album. Ms. Lauryn Hill - Wed, May 14

Ms. Lauryn Hill is an 8-time Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, and actress. She is best known for being a member of the Fugees, and for her critically acclaimed 1998 solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. (show: 9:00 pm / tickets: $60 in advance, $70 day-of)

Orgone - Fri, May 16 and Sat, May 17

Known for their distinctively timeless blend of deep soul, rare funk, and afro-disco with a raw rock star edge sound, Orgone is a synergy of eight musicians, at the core of which are keyboardist Dan Hastie and guitarist Sergio Rios. (show: 10:00 pm / no cover)

Dumpstaphunk and The Soul Rebels - Thur, May 22, Fri, May 23, Sat, May 24 and Sun, May 25

Called the "best funk band from New Orleans" by The New York Times, Dumpstaphunk brings Mardi Gras to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in May with its distinctive and prestigious modern funk ensembles. The all-star collective features Ivan Neville on keys, the unique double-bass attack of veterans Tony Hall and Nick Daniels, Ian Neville on guitar, and Nikki Glaspie on drums. Dumpstaphunk will be joined by The Soul Rebels, an eight-piece brass ensemble that incorporates elements of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and pop music. Tedeschi Trucks Band w/ special guests Soulive - Thur, May 29, Fri, May 30 and Sat, May 31

Driven by Derek Trucks' signature slide-guitar sound and Susan Tedeschi's honey-to-husk voice, Tedeschi Trucks Band delivers an electrifying blend of blues, soul, jazz, and rock drawing from an ever-evolving song list. The band's debut album Revelator landed a Best Blues Album Grammy as well as a Blues Music Award for Album of the Year. Special guests Soulive, known for their upbeat funk and jazz fusion, will also take the stage during the 3-night set. (show: 8 pm / tickets: $35-$40, or $105 for a 3-night pass)
