Il Volo Kicks Off North American Tour 8/12

Following the stunning success of their PBS Special 'Live From the Detroit Opera House' and their debut CD which sold 350,000 CDs in the US and over a million copies globally, Italian superstars Il Volo will be returning to the US for a series of 28 concerts and 4 Canadian shows that begin August 12th in Minneapolis with stops in major markets Including NY's Beacon Theatre on September 4th.  The announcement was confirmed by their label Geffen Records and their national tour promoter Live Nation. Affectionately referred to by their fans as The Italian Jonas Brothers, The Italian Heart Throbs, The Baby Teenage Tenors, The New Bocellis and Jackie Evancho's Older Brothers, IL Volo's Piero Barone 19, Ignazio Borschetto 18, and Gianluca Ginoble 17 exploded onto the US music scene and in to the hearts of their devoted fans following a show stopping appearance on American Idol.  Their self-titled debut album arrived at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts and has remained a Top Ten CD on Billboard's Classical Crossover Chart since March 2012.  The overwhelming response to the airings of their PBS Special as well as the pledge drive resulted In a staggering 1,493 broadcasts in 161 markets and 45 states reaching 91% of the US market.  Their astonishing vocals are reflected in their album and DVD IL Volo Takes Flight – Live From the Detroit Opera House which include a mix of reimagined classics and original material.  Certified platinum in their homeland, the boys have appeared on major US tv shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Talk, Ellen,Rachel Ray and made a surprise appearance on the final episode of the HBO Series 'Entourage.'
