Grammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix to play NY. The group came into existence preparing songs for Aaron Professor Louie Hurwitz' studio productions for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame group The Band. Professor Louie collaborated with The Band for over fifteen years co-producing The Band CD's Jericho, High On The Hog and Jubilation in the 90's. He also produced CD's with solo members Rick Danko (who gave him the moniker Professor Louie) Levon Helm and Garth Hudson. The Crowmatix are the backing group for these solo CD's. Professor Louie has produced Graham Parker, Commander Cody Band and many more artists. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix repertoire is steeped in rock 'n' roll, blues, Gospel and American roots music, and features a compelling collection of original and traditional tunes. They have been performing since 2001 approximately 150 shows a year and have 12 CD's on The Woodstock Records label. Their CD Whispering Pines was nominated for five Grammy's and their 2013 release Wings On Fire earned great reviews.

They will perform songs of The Band, original tunes and classic blues.
