FlecHaus Release Fourth New Single 'Lie To Me' Today

FlecHaus release their fourth new single "Lie To Me" on Friday, September 8. The Austin-based quintet are: Megan Flechaus, lead vocals/rhythm guitar; Kenzie Slottow, flute; Dominick Chaillot, bass; Nathan Smith, drums; and Sara Louise, backing vocals. On "Lie To Me," the band is joined by Benjamin Levy on fiddle, who substitutes for flutist Kenzie Slottow.

The band's second single "What We've Got" just won two L.A. Music Critic Awards: "Best Single-Group" and "Fan Favorite". Lie To Me, explains Megan, "is about the compassionate lying that one does to flatter a lover throughout a long relationship. It's also inspired by the Shakespeare Sonnet CxxVIII":

When my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her, though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutored youth,
Unlearnèd in the world's false subtleties.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although she knows my days are past the best,
Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue:
