The holidays at Emory University promise to be bright and joyful with several festive concerts planned for December.

A local favorite, A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, will take place on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Glenn Auditorium. Established in 1935, this tradition continues to bring Emory and Atlanta community members together to celebrate the season. The candlelit service of choral music and scripture features readings by special guests from the community. Tickets: $20; $15 discount categories; $5 Emory students.

Another holiday classic, Santa's Favorite Chamber Music, is on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. in Michael C. Carlos Museum. Santa will be on hand to introduce some of his favorite holiday pieces and pass out early Christmas treats to good listeners. This concert is a part of Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta's Family Series and is free and open to the public.

Explore Christmas through centuries, traditions and generations during Christmas with Atlanta Master Chorale on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. Featuring the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World and Georgia native Jamie Barton, Atlanta Master Chorale brings the glorious sounds of the holidays to Emerson Concert Hall at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. Tickets: $25; discount category members $20; and all students $10.
