DMA's Release New Single and Video IN THE AIR

I OH YOU is thrilled to present DMA'S brand new single and video for 'In The Air' and to reveal the details for the band's hugely anticipated sophomore album titled For Now due for release on Friday 27 April. Watch the video here!

Premiering worldwide this morning via triple j, 'In The Air' reveals a softer side to the Sydney hailing group, with sweeping production and day-dream inducing lyrics that shine a light on the band's much-loved talent for pop-writing. Written on an old piano a few years back, the lyrics of this ballad create an emotional journey. "I can't say, where will I be when the world stops shaking, I can't stay, where will I be when my heart's still breaking" vocalist Tom O'Dell's sweet vocal croons, "it's in the air, there's something in the way she drifts up there".

'In The Air', along with the entirety of For Now, was mostly recorded at DMA'S studio home above the Lady Hampshire Hotel in Camperdown. After some passing time and to allow some creative expansion, the band locked down with producer Kim Moyes (one half of The Presets) at The Grove in Somersby, New South Wales to finesse what is now the stunning final product of both the single and album.

Johnny Took (guitar, songwriter) expresses: "We are excited to share our new album with you. We have been working on these songs for some time now, hope you enjoy."

Kim Moyes describes his involvement: "I was brought on board to help the boys record drums for 'Dawning' and 'In The Air' but I fell so hard for all of the material in the demos that I knew fairly quickly that I would need to convince the band to let me sink my teeth much deeper. I truly loved working with these guys. So much."

'In The Air' follows the first single from For Now, 'Dawning', a song that confirmed DMA'S comeback was not to be sniffed at. The single currently sits at over 2 million streams, placed in this year's triple j Hottest 100 (the band's fourth year in a row featuring in the countdown) and was reworked into a stunning acoustic version. Between studio stints and non-stop touring throughout 2017, the band returned to home soil stages for two very special shows on the 'Dawning' Single Tour at Melbourne's Meat Market and Sydney's Paddington Town Hall - both shows selling out within a day of being announced.

For Now follows DMA'S critically acclaimed debut LP Hills End (released March 2016 via I OH YOU) and their self-titled EP from 2014, both of which catapulted the trio into global consciousness. Singles including 'Delete' (certified Gold in Australia), 'Lay Down', 'Too Soon' and 'Step Up The Morphine' adorned the band with countless praise the world over.

Locally, Hills End debuted at #8 on the ARIA Album Chart and earned the band a 2016 ARIA nomination for Best Breakthrough Artist. Since Hills End's release in the UK, DMA'S have received extensive radio play, particularly on BBC Radio1, and have returned for multiple sold out tours throughout the UK and Europe. 2016 also saw the trio cover Cher's classic 'Believe' for triple j's Like A Version - the cover going on to become one of the most played and claiming the #6 spot on the 2016 Hottest 100, the highest ever position for a Like A Version.

For Now (available now for pre-order) will be released globally on Friday 27 April. If the remarkable success of their debut is anything to go by, 2018 is set to be a year for the ages for DMA'S.
