Currently touring across the UK, Charlotte Carpenter matches her explosive new single 'Fire' with delicate acoustic B-side, 'Lately', due for release this December 2nd via her own imprint, Let It Go Records.

As finger-picked notes tumble softly around Charlotte's captivating, whispered vocal, she explains of the track's personal muse:

"'Lately' is a lullaby, of some kind, to a lover. This is a strange one for me, because I've never written a love song in a positive light and I can't describe this any other way than being a love song. I wrote this on my acoustic guitar; something I hadn't played in a really long time, and I reconnected with it in some way. I knew this was something I wanted to keep simple, so a live recording felt like the most honest way to record this song. I like the way it sounds stark, because for the first time ever, love feels simple."

Following the How Are We Ever To Know EP, five beautifully reflective and intimate songs that saw Charlotte coming to terms with the demise of her first relationship, 'Fire' marks a new chapter, arriving liberated, soulful and explosive, poised to embrace the future. "It's a song about taking risks, and feeling vulnerable in a positive way; as though it's okay to be less in control," Charlotte adds. "Shortly before I turned 25, I felt as though I was living a little differently to what I had in the past. I felt as though I was re-discovering myself as a woman; taking risks; being less careful and living with less concern. It's a song about intimacy also, and feeling love and lust as a young woman and being liberated by that. Feeling heavily inspired by my femininity, I felt a passion and a hunger which had a big effect on my song writing and playing. Fire came about one afternoon, when I felt as though my life was about to take a very interesting turn, and it's about embracing that feeling of change, and seeing where it can take you."

Dubbed "a distinctly different kind of singer/songwriter, and one that makes for an enthralling listen", by The Line Of Best Fit, Charlotte has seen acclaim from Virgin Radio, Consequence Of Sound, Clash, NME, Total Guitar, Blues Magazine, Louder Than War, Gold Flake Paint and many more. Having shared stages with the likes of Marika Hackman, George Ezra and Ethan Johns, Charlotte is currently playing a UK headline tour through November on the dates below.
