Calico The Band Premiere 'The 405' Video with AXS

CALICO THE BAND--the California Americana country group led by the female duo of Manda Mosher and Kirsten Proffit--today (7/12) have partnered with AXS.com to premiere the music video for "The 405." Filmed in areas such as Topanga Canyon and Highland Park, "'The 405' is a true California love story inspired by the desire to be together," Proffit tells AXS.com. "Living in the San Fernando Valley and trying to make it to the westside of Los Angeles can wear on a relationship, but if you can jump that hurdle, you may have a shot. CALICO THE BAND, short for "California Country," returns with theirsignature intimate and tight harmonies on UNDER BLUE SKIES (via California Country Records). The album, initially slated for release on July 21, will now arrive on Friday, September 15 due to post-production delays. The band's harmonies light up such standout tracks such as above-mentioned"The 405," "Cold, Cold Love," "The Leaving Kind," a song about about loving a desperado who can't sit still (it was recently unveiled on The Bluegrass Situation; listen here). CALICO THE BAND also delivers an inspired arrangement of Mamas & The Papas' classic "California Dreamin'."
UNDER BLUE SKIES follows the band's debut album which was praised by Terry Roland of No Depression who raved, "The best of L.A.'s country past, present and future clearly emerges from Calico's debut, Rancho California." The opening track, "Fine Line," tells the quintessential story of so many aspiring artists who come to L.A. in hopes of realizing their dreams, and everyone in Southern California who travels their way along miles of gridlock freeway knows "The 405." Here, on Proffit's only solely-penned album track, love blossoms against the backdrop of an all-too-familiar L.A.
