Svetlana & The Delancey Five, one of the leading bands on the New York swing dance scene. Svetlana and The Delancey Five will also be performing at her three year-strong packed residency every Monday night in the Lower East Side's historic speakeasy, The Backroom. Times Square Swing Dance FlashBomb feat. Svetlana and The Delancey Five

Friday, June 5 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Two years ago, Svetlana and The Delancey Five set up an impromptu flash mob-style party on a Times Square traffic island for an unauthorized swing dance. This year, for their third "FlashBomb" they go legit with permits for a one-hour swing festival-with over 2,250 people having already RSVP'd for the event-and DJ Douglas McMillan co-hosting the free event. It all takes place in Father Duffy Square from 7:00 - 8:00pm, with plans to set up at the foot of the TKTS steps. For dancers there's surely no more dramatic place to shimmy and shake than the crossroads of the world, and for tourists to watch this unique NYC happening!

Join us for the triumphant return of 17 piece George Gee Big|Brave band, featuring Svetlana Shmulyian! Dance and lounge all night in a 2,500+ sq ft ballroom near the heart of Times Square with a tribute to the Swing era big bands (Dorsey, Miller, Basie, Goodman, Ellington), plus the best swing DJs and dance performances New York City has to offer! The bar is open throughout the entire event (8pm-1am).

Svetlana and The Delancey Five's new album, Night At The Speakeasy, featuring Wycliffe Gordon, is coming out later this year. Svetlana has put together the best musicians on the NYC swing scene including Wycliffe Gordon,trombone/vocals; Adrian Cunningham, clarinet/saxophone/vocals; Charlie Caranicas, trumpet; Dalton Ridenhour, piano; Vinny Raniolo, guitar; George Delancey, bass; and Rob Garcia, drums.

The album features stellar arrangements of select classic standards from Gordon including, "Do Nothing Until You Hear From Me," "Sometimes I'm Happy," and new standards, including, "God Only Knows," and "Because." Night at the Speakeasy, produced by Grammy Award-winner Guy Eckstine, also features originals by Svetlana and Rob Garcia.
