Ben Hazlewood to Donate Proceeds from Limited Edition Merchandise to GLAAD

Melbourne-based alt-pop artist Ben Hazlewood releases his exclusive merch line today in support of his single "Save Your Sorries." The limited edition pieces will be available until the end of October, and all proceeds will be donated to GLAAD to further support their work in the LGBTQ+ community and shine a ray of hope on the tragedy that inspired Ben to write "Save Your Sorries."

On the motivation behind Save Your Sorries, Ben shared this deeply personal quote, "Growing up and discovering my sexuality I felt that I wasn't able to be open to myself or others. This lead me to explore my newly found feelings in secret, in the shadows. Vulnerable and isolated I put trust in the wrong people, which unfortunately led to one of my first sexual experiences being a violent and non-consensual encounter. I have hid from and tried to ignore this for far too long. Today in releasing "Save Your Sorries" I am hurling it into the light, with a roar; as loud as thunder."

About Ben Hazlewood:

Ben Hazlewood is an anthemic alt-pop artist based in Melbourne. With an artist father and a mother who owned a dance studio, Ben's creative journey seemed to be written in the stars. After training as a professional dancer in his mother's studio, Ben felt that music was the path he needed to take. He moved to London and joined a three-piece band called "The Scheme." After the band disbanded, Hazlewood became a member of Joel Madden's team on Australia's inaugural season of The Voice and kicked off his solo music career. With two EPs and an album under his belt, Ben has been hard at work, writing music alongside New Zealand artist, Gin Wigmore, he boasts over 1M views on YouTube, and has been featured in Popdust, Huffington Post, and The Advocate. Ben is managed by Jono Scarlet for Mint Music. His new single "Save Your Sorries" is available now.
