Ike Willis & Ray White! These amazing & unique voices were clearly favorites of Frank's, as he recorded & toured with one or both of them from 1976 till the last Zappa tour in 1988. Together - they created some of the most memorable performances of Zappa's music, & we will bring them to you on this tour, performing songs they are each known for, as well as songs from classic Zappa albums they recorded together.
One of Frank's greatest skills was -- his incredible sixth sense in identifying something magical in each of the musicians he hired. Recognizing this - Project/Object continues it's singular mission to present the music as it was recorded -but also to respect and develop the creative "LIVE" aspect that Zappa always pushed his band towards. With the support of the FANS, we choose to do this with the "Alumni"....the people who were there with Frank as the music was created, recorded and performed.

The Moth, a not-for-profit storytelling organization, was founded in New York in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate in New York the feeling of sultry summer evenings on his native St. Simon's Island, Georgia, where he and a small circle of friends would gather to spin spellbinding tales on his friend Wanda's porch. After moving to New York, George missed the sense of connection he had felt sharing stories with his friends back home, and he decided to invite a few friends over to his New York apartment to tell and hear stories. Thus the first "Moth" evening took place in his living room. Word of these captivating story nights quickly spread, and The Moth moved to bigger venues in New York. Today, The Moth conducts eight ongoing programs and has brought more than 3,000 live stories to over 100,000 audience members.
The screen around Wanda's porch had a hole where moths would flutter in and get trapped in the light. Similarly, George and his friends found that the characters in their best stories would often find themselves drawn to some bright light-of adventure, ambition, knowledge-but then find themselves burned or trapped, leaving them with some essential conflict to face before the story could reach its conclusion. So George and his original group of storytellers called themselves "The Moths". George took the name with him to New York, where he hoped that New Yorkers, too, would find themselves drawn to storytelling as moths to a flame. They did. With no advertising, through sheer word of mouth, every show to date has sold out in 48 hours or less.

Since their 1986 debut album Strong Persuader, the Robert Cray Band has earned a double platinum album and two gold albums, and has been honored with five Grammy Awards, 11 Grammy nominations and countless other honors.
Robert Cray's This Time the first studio album on singer-songwriter-guitarist Cray's own imprint Nozzle Records, distributed by Vanguard Records arrives at a vital juncture in the musician's career, marked by creative renewal and a key reunion with an old performing partner.
The five-time Grammy Award winner summarized 35 years of mastery on the debut Nozzle release Live From Across the Pond (2006), an electrifying two-CD concert set drawn from a series of shows (opening for Eric Clapton) at London's Royal Albert Hall. When the time came to follow up that widely praised collection with a studio recording, Cray viewed it as an opportunity to move his sound in other directions.
He found exactly what he was looking for by turning to one of his oldest friends and colleagues: bassist Richard Cousins, whose tenure with the Robert Cray Band began with its barnstorming regional origins in Eugene, Oregon, in 1974 and extended through 1991, encompassing such early high-water marks as Strong Persuader (1986) and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1988), both winners of the best contemporary blues performance Grammy.

Hot Rize has marked over 30 years in the bluegrass history book. Following the untimely passing of guitarist Charles Sawtelle in 1999, the band reorganized in 2002 with Bryan Sutton on guitar and has continued to play several shows each year, delivering its high-energy, soulful, and unique sound to fans old and new. Though many years from its full-time touring period of 1978-1990, Hot Rize has kept its legend growing by delivering first-class music and entertainment as only it can.
The traditional-yet-progressive Colorado band started its 12 years of full-time performing in January, 1978. The group named itself after the secret ingredient of Martha White self-rising flour, the product Flatt & Scruggs promoted in the 50s and 60s.
Original band members were Tim O'Brien on lead and harmony vocals, mandolin and fiddle; Pete Wernick on banjo and harmony vocals; Charles Sawtelle on guitar, harmonies and lead vocals. Mike Scap, the group's original guitarist, departed after three months and was replaced by Nick Forster on bass, with Sawtelle switching from bass to guitar. Forster also became the group's emcee and main harmony singer. Hot Rize recorded its self-titled debut album, a blend of traditional and new material, in 1979. Their second album, Radio Boogie, came out in 1981.

Frank Marino was 17 years old when his first album Maxoom came out, and was instantly hailed as the next new guitar god.
Mahogany Rush went on to release two more albums - Child Of The Novelty (1974) and Strange Universe (1975) - before Columbia Records signed the band to a major label deal. Mahogany Rush IV, released in 1976, was the last album under the moniker of Mahogany Rush, and this was due in large part to Marino's burgeoning reputation among guitar aficionados as being one of the truly great guitarists of his day. Henceforth the band was known as Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush.
The deal with Columbia lasted for seven albums (including a double live release) and took the band to 1982. In 1985 Marino signed with Maze Records and they released a double live album of Mahogany Rush in 1985; in 1986 Marino released a solo album on Maze entitled Full Circle and toured it extensively throughout North America. Marion also released a solo effort on SPV Records in 1990, and licensing deals have seen the first three albums released on CD and packaged as a two CD set on Big Beat Records (1995) and a best of compilation on Razor & Tie Records (1996).
The long-awaited Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush RealLIVE! CD has just been released. This is a double live CD with over 150 minutes of an amazing performance.

Basia is touring behind her last studio album "It's That Girl Again", an album that brings her trademark global pop/jazz sound into today. In this age of highly processed and compressed vocals, It's That Girl Again reminds us what it's like to hear honest, straightforward singing with genuine feeling again. From the first strum of the guitar to the last cheer from the crowd, the album is a great showing from an established artist firmly planted in the here-and-now.
