AMERICAN IDOL's Jada Vance Releases 'Rear View Revival,' the Title Track From Her Upcoming EP

The past few years have been especially challenging for Jada Vance.

The country singer/songwriter and former "American Idol" contestant has experienced bullying, bad relationships and the trauma of her father's suicide due to substance abuse. Although Vance's newly released single, "Rear View Revival," is not specifically about those issues, it is her way of dealing with the past in a positive way.

"It talks about putting your hands in the air and leaving the bad stuff behind," Vance said. "I've had to hit my knees several times and pray to God that he will help me move forward," she said.

Indeed, the title track from Vance's soon-to-be-released EP, is as upbeat as a Sunday spiritual, complete with a choir-like chorus: "I need a review revival / Every time I look back I know I'm a survivor / So put your hands in the air and let the Spirit move / Be proud of all those things in your rear view..."

Vance's first major experience as a singer was on Season 12 of "American Idol" at age 16. She did not make it to the finals, but the show taught her two things: how little she knew about the music business, and the fact that she wanted to be a professional singer for the rest of her life.

"Before 'Idol,' most of my singing was just karaoke, but seeing how hard the other contestants worked opened my eyes to what it takes to be successful," she said. "I learned about stage presence and the importance of songwriting and having the right team of people working with you."

Since then, Vance has spent a lot of time cowriting with other artists in Nashville like Megan Golden and Mark Narmore, performing as much as possible, and releasing three previous singles. However, she considers Rear View Revival to be among her best and most personal.

"This is me, putting my life out in front of the public, moving forward and growing instead of dwelling on the past."

"Rear View Revival" is available on iTunes, Google Play Music, Spotify and other digital platforms. Radio distribution is through Play MPE in association with GrassRoots Promotion in Nashville.
