UPDATE! Hugh Jackman Talks New PT Barnum Movie Musical & HOUDINI On Broadway

UPDATE! Hugh Jackman Talks New PT Barnum Movie Musical & HOUDINI On BroadwayMajor movie star and frequent Broadway headliner Hugh Jackman discusses his spate of exciting upcoming projects in a new interview, including a new movie musical based on the life of legendary circus showman PT Barnum and a brand new stage musical by Stephen Schwartz all about iconic magician Harry Houdini.

"Just in case my wife is waking up in New York... I am taking a break, Deborra Lee," Hugh says amusingly before discussing his newest film project, just announced, Neil Blomkamp's CHAPPIE - in addition to addressing many other career irons currently in the creative fire, as well.

"There's a few things on the horizon, but I really don't know what is next," Hugh continues.

"Yeah, Barnum has been on IMDB for about four years... and, I thought it would stay in sort of inactive development, to be honest," Jackman asserts.

In describing further details on the long-gestating movie musical project, Jackman says, "It's a movie musical about Barnum called THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH."

Continuing, Jackman states, "New musicals are very difficult, but just recently it has taken a real turn and there is real momentum, so watch this space."

As for his return to the Broadway stage in HOUDINI, Jackman emits a laugh and opines, "HOUDINI is a possible Broadway project and I will make a decision on that in about a month," also adding, "If my wife reads this I am going to be in trouble!"

Please let Hugh back on Broadway, Deb - or at least let him onscreen in a big splashy musical project like THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!
