According to reports from Variety, Antonio Banderas' Spain-based production shingle, Green Moon Producciones, will team up with media-technology giant Vertice 360. The duo will co-produce one to two English film or TV projects each year for the next three years.

The first project will be the tentatively-titled psychological thriller "The Lonely Man," which will star Banderas, who will also direct. Erik Jendresen will write the screenplay for the film which is scheduled for 2011.

The film tells the story a man who turns on a member of the armed forces who discovers he's the only person on the planet.

The second project is set to be a TV tragicomedy called "The Strange and Curious Case of Mrs X," a Working Title. It will star Melanie Griffith with Banderas also playing a character and directing.  In "Mrs X," also written by Jendresen, Griffith will play a mother whose radical inner thoughts are starkly contrasted with her conservative social environment.

According to Variety, this is "a step-up in the development of Vertice 360's international strategy and also allows us to leverage our competitive advantages, making available to productions all our group's resources and services," said Vertice 360 CEO Saul Ruiz de Marcos.

Banderas won a Tony Award for his performance in the 2003 revival of Nine. He has also appeared as Che in the movie adaption of Andrew Loydd Webber's Evita. Additional film credits include: Assassins, Interview with the Vampire, Philadelphia, Desperado, The Mask of Zorro, Spy Kids and the Shrek sequels.
