With the onset of Spring and the upcoming warm weather summer season, American wine drinkers will experience a newcomer to the US wine market as Weltachs Winery's Rosé makes its first appearance in North America.

Weltachs' Rosé is made exclusively from the Portugieser grape, a varietal with a 400-year history in Germany's Pfalz growing area. The Pfalz is known for its warm, almost Mediterranean, climate. This unique warmth enables grapes grown in the Palatinate to attain their fullest physiological ripeness and taste potential.

Richly pink in color, exhibiting an orange-like shimmer, Weltachs Rosé is designed for broad public acceptance. It is easily accessible and shows fulsome, ripe-strawberry flavor, medium dry, neither cloying nor acidic. Whether for simple enjoyment on its own or with all sorts of light foods, including Asian and Near Eastern or Northern African cuisine, salads and seafood, Weltachs Rosé is perfect for casual consumption.

Enjoyed at midday, late afternoon, and in the evening, at picnics, boating, at the beach, or as a welcoming aperitif served chilled but not icy this Rose is popularly priced around $10 a bottle retail at stores extending from New England through the mid-Atlantic states. Recent sales outlets now include Michigan and Nevada with new markets in the offing.

"With the explosive growth in interest in Rosé not only in Germany but world-wide, Rosé's versatility, its compatibility with many cuisines, especially during warm weather months extending from April well beyond August, makes Rosé a perfect wine selection," says Dirk Mäuerer, Weltachs' owner and general manager. "Lovely pink color, supple flavors and pleasant mouth-feel make Weltachs an appealing Rosé enticing the eye and delighting the palette."

Given Weltachs's wines excellent acceptance in the Far East with strong sales in China, Japan and Hong Kong, Weltachs' debut in the United States will further broaden the market for popular German wine offerings here.

Distributors, wholesalers and consumers are encouraged to contact Weltachs directly for further information regarding availability. Weltachs is represented exclusively by Liquid Projects, LLC, of Brooklyn, NY, Lars Dahlhaus, Managing Partner. Tel: 646-479-7269. Email: Lars(at)LiquidProjects.com
