The FruitGuys Partners with Slow Food Russian River to Offer Heirloom Gravenstein Apple Boxes Nationwide

Today, The FruitGuys and Slow Food Russian River announce the availability of its 11 th annual limited-edition Gravenstein Apple Box. From today through Aug. 14, people across the country can place orders with The FruitGuys to receive boxes of Northern California's beloved heirloom apple, the Gravenstein. This year, 16 percent of all Gravenstein Apple Box proceeds will be donated back to the Gravenstein apple farmers to help continue preserving this special variety.

Gravensteins are an endangered American food on Slow Food's Ark of Taste. They are primarily grown in Northern California's Sonoma County where only a handful of farmers still farm this heirloom apple. Gravensteins are a delicious sweet-tart apple available only about two weeks every summer due to a short growing season.

Boxes of Gravenstein apples can be ordered at fruitguys.com/gravenstein and are available in both organic and conventional options with 16, 24, and 48-serving sizes. The Gravenstein Apple Box is available for delivery TuesdayThursday from Aug. 817. The last day to place an order is Monday, Aug. 14. The FruitGuys offers free delivery in California.
