BORDENTOWN, N.J., April 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ The 2018 New Jersey Renaissance Faire will open its gates on Saturday, May 19. Over the course of three weekends (May 19-20, 26-27; June 2-3), thousands of patrons will follow the story of the fierce 16th century Irish Pirate Queen, Grace O'Malley, and her quest for justice from the ruthless English Governor of Connacht, Sir Richard Bingham. The festivities will begin each day at 10:00 a.m. with an impressive amount of entertainment happening through 6:00 p.m.

Fun for all ages, the Faire's littlest friends will become part of the show as soon as they arrive. Kids can learn how to be a true Knight at the interactive Knight School. They'll find beautiful fairies throughout the grounds of the Faire ready to make new friends, and learn some delightful dances with Peasant Dance. They may even run into a not-so little, magical leprechaun.

Guests can hear fascinating stories told by living history storytellers, see safe demonstrations of Renaissance weapons and watch Master Glassblower Jason Klein as he creates breathtaking pieces unique to the NJ Renaissance Faire. The Faire's seven stages will be filled with wild entertainment each day. The Lords of Adventure is an identical twin, sword-fighting duo ready to impress with their skills. Pieces of Eight will dazzle as they give a glimpse into their hilarious, yet strange, family dynamics that will leave audiences in stitches. Music will fill the air with performances by groups including the Ivanhoe Brass Ensemble, and the Wandering Fiddler playing merry tunes.

Chaste Treasure, the always popular, upper class, ladies trio, will return this season with their beautifully sassy performances. The group, which originated years ago at the New Jersey Renaissance Faire, just finished their new album, Busting Out, and will host a CD Release Party, along with a special concert, at the Faire grounds on Friday, May 25, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The Merchant Village offers guests an array of unique shops featuring the work of 60+ artisans. The hundreds of items available include blacksmith forge, handmade period clothing, historical glass blowing, and handmade chainmail creations. Guests can also dress up in period costumes and pose for photos to create a lasting memory at Lady Gwendolyn's Costume Rental Booth.

The renowned family-friendly festival will also have booths serving delicious dishes, along with award-winning Valenzano Wines, and local craft beers at the South Jersey Celtic Society Meade and Ale Garden.
