Original Vincent's, one of the oldest family-owned Italian Restaurants in New York City, will celebrate its 110th Anniversary on Thursday, September 4, 2014, with a reception from 6 to 10 PM. at the restaurant at 119 Mott Street, corner of Mott and Hester Streets.

The restaurant, owned and operated by Vincent Generoso, and his brother Michael and nephew Michael, Jr., dates back to 1894 when their ancestors, Carmela and Giuseppe Siano, Sicilian immigrants, began selling clams, mussels and scungilli in the half shell from a pushcart located on the southwest corner of Mott and Hester Streets, the same location of the current restaurant.

In 1904 the Sianos had saved enough money to buy the small corner store adjacent to their pushcart and moved inside and opened a tiny Italian restaurant which they named after their young son, Vincent's Clam House. Carmela also introduced New York to her now world famous pasta sauces, using her mother's secret recipe. Vincent Generoso bought the building in 1982 and took over the restaurant in 1984 when it expanded next door and was renamed "OriginaLVincent's.

Guests will include loyal customers as well as celebrities who have gathered there over the decades.
