Just in time for apple season and National Apple Day, Opal Apples will be unveiling its first ever 'Opal Orchard NYC' pop-up. Fittingly located on Orchard Street, the Orchard will be open from October 19 - October 21 (National Apple Day) and will visually transport visitors to the Broetje Orchards, where Opal Apples are grown and harvested, for a fun, hands-on interactive experience - complete with an Opal Apple tree ripe for picking.

"Since we know how much New Yorkers love apple season, we wanted to bring the experience of visiting our Opal Orchard right to the heart of New York. And honestly, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate National Apple Day," says Chuck Zeutenhorst, general manager of FirstFruits Marketing, the exclusive grower and shipper of Opal Apples. "We wanted to bring a fun, visual and fully immersive experience for visitors of all ages to enjoy without having to leave the city."

The Opal Orchard NYC experience will have plenty for visitors to do and see, including special tastings, a 3-D apple photo experience, crafts, contests and giveaways, and an Opal Apple tree for apple picking. In addition, Opal's very own Orchard Expert, Paul Esvelt, will be on site to engage with visitors and share his knowledge and love for Opal apples along with his favorite recipes and special demonstrations. Visitors to the Opal Orchard will also have a chance to take home this season's harvest before they hit stores later this month.

Of particular interest to apple-lovers is the fact that Opal Apples are the only naturally non-browning, non-GMO apple grown in the US. These distinctive apples feature a crispy texture, striking yellow color, and sweet yet tangy flavor that has made them one of the fastest growing apple varieties in the country.

Opal Orchard NYC will be free and open to the public from Friday, October 19 through Sunday, October 21, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm at 156 Orchard Street, NYC. For more information on Opal Apples and the Opal Orchard NYC experience, please visit http://www.opalapples.com. #opalorchardnyc
