90X ARTS FESTIVAL 3/12 to 3/14 at Ideal Glass in the East Village

For the seventh year, the brigade of professional performing and visual artists that make up the ranks of Great Performances' "cater waiter" service staff will take center stage for the annual 90X Arts Festival from March 12 - 14 at the East Village's Ideal Glass space. The on-site cash bar presented by Great Performances (GP) will encourage convivial mingling during pre-show viewing of 90X Arts Gallery & Video Gallery.

One of New York City's most unusual annual productions given the common denominator among participants and the fact it is sponsored in part by a catering company, this year's festival will feature several firsts. For the first time, as opposed to the festival's run being devoted to one show, the each of its three nights will showcase a different performing genre- comedy, cabaret and dance.

All will be complemented by the eye-popping 90X Gallery display of works by GP's painters and sculptors. In another first, the installation will be augmented by the introduction of the 90X Video Gallery of popular YouTube shorts by GP videographers and filmmakers shown on "the big screen."

While tickets for each of the three nights are $20, there is a free open-to-the-public element this year, also a 90X first. On Tuesday, March 13, the public will be able to view festival's visual artworks and meet the people who created them at the 90X Gallery Meet and Greet at no charge from 7 to 8 p.m.

Monday March 12

90X Arts Gallery & Video Gallery, 7 to 8 p.m.

Comedy Showcase, 8 to 10 p.m. - a raucous mix of stand-up, improv and sketch.

Tuesday, March 13

90X Arts Gallery & Video Gallery Meet & Greet 7 to 8 p.m. (FREE!)

Dance Project, 8 to 10 p.m. - across the spectrum, ballet to B-boy.

Wednesday, March 14

90X Arts Gallery & Video Gallery, 7 to 8 p.m.

Cabaret, 8 to 10 p.m. - genre defying night of music: pop, American Songbook and Musical theater to rock, jazz, R&B and even opera
