Centenary Stage Company's Annual DANCE FEST Continues 3/18 ImageCentenary Stage Company's annual Dance Fest. Continues on Sunday March 18 at 3pm in the Lackland Performing Arts Center with XY Dance Project. Under the artistic direction of Nijawwon Matthews and managing director Lea Antolini - Lid the XY Dance Project will be premiering their latest concert entitled REVOLT.

The series of works examines the issues of racism, homophobia, xenophobia and sexual harassment in our culture and current political climate. Five African American choreographers, Christopher Higgins, Ebony Williams, Shela Barker, Maleek Washington and Nijawwon Matthews will share their stories and personal experiences in an evening of thought provoking and moving dance works. The XY Dance Project is committed to presenting works that reflect on current social issues through a unique movement style that blends contemporary dance through the spiritual rhythms of African dance, the grace and peace of Tai Chi and the heart of street dance. Led by Artistic Director Nijawwon Matthews, the company works to create an environment that allows dancers to break stereotypes in their performances, and support the artists artistically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Tickets for XY Dance Project on Mar 18th at 3pm in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Performing Arts Center, are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Centenary Stage Company is also offering a 'Dance Flex Pass' for the series. The Dance Flex Pass grants entry to all three Dance Festival events for $45.00 per patron.
