The Boston Pops Orchestra Comes to The Bushnell

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra made a one-night-only stop at The Bushnell last night during The Very Best of the Boston Pops Tour.
Conductor Keith Lockhart led the orchestra (that was founded back in 1885), through a wide range of melodies ranging from historical ballads like Leonard Bernstein's 1944 "Times Square" from On the Town to Dancing Queen from Mamma Mia by Benny Andersson, Stig Anderson, and Björn Ulvaeus.
Katherine Winterstein stunned the audience with her violin skills during the theme from Schindler's List while Michael Chertock played like Gershwin on the piano during "Rhapsody in Blue."
The highlight of the evening had to be sing-a-long near the end of the show where the audience belted out lyrics to all the greats, including "As Time Goes By," "Moon River," and "Que Sera, Sera." There was even a surprise song at the end that offered a bold red, white, and blue statement.
If you weren't able to check out the Boston Pops in Connecticut this time around, there's plenty of other places to catch them while on tour. For more information, visit the Boston Pops website.
