Kelsey Lu To Join Oneohtrix Point Never: MYRIAD Performance At Walt Disney Concert Hall ImageKelsey Lu will make a special appearance in two songs at the West Coast premiere of Oneohtrix Point Never's MYRIAD performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Monday, October 22, 2018. Examining disorienting forms at the intersection of theater, installation art, and musical performance, and imagined from the perspective of an alien intelligence, MYRIAD explores film and television tropes, abstract sculpture, game ephemera, poetry, apocryphal histories, internet esoterica, and philosophies of being. It looks toward the possibilities of the future while considering the conflict between today's civilization and the environment.

Lu performed keyboards on "Manifold" and "Last Known Image of a Song" from Oneohtrix Point Never's most recent album Age Of, released via Warp on June 1. In May, she joined Oneohtrix Point Never as a guest artist in the world premiere of MYRIAD, performed over three sold out dates at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. A native of North Carolina, Lu is a cellist, singer, and activist who has collaborated with many of her peers, including Grace Wales Bonner, Sampha, and Florence + The Machine.

Daniel Lopatin, known as Oneohtrix Point Never, is a musician, composer, Mercury Prize-nominated producer, and label founder of Software Recording Company, who works from Brooklyn, New York. His latest original film score, for Good Time (dir. Josh and Benny Safdie), premiered in official competition at 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where it received Best Soundtrack Award. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including James Blake, Anohni, Ismael Butler, Sofia Coppola, Kelsey Lu, and Iggy Pop. His production credits include Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne, and Nine Inch Nails, among others.

The MYRIAD ensemble includes Daniel Lopatin (vocals, electronics), Eli Keszler (drumset, sensory triggers, auxiliary percussion), Kelly Moran (keys), and Aaron David Ross (keys, vocal synth, foley triggers) and features live visuals and sculpture from longtime collaborator Nate Boyce.

Monday, October 22, 2018, at 8:00 PM. Walt Disney CONCERT HALL 111 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles. Tickets are available at laphil.com, in person at the Walt Disney Concert Hall Box Office, or by phone at 323 850 2000.
