POWHATAN, Va. - Author Yon Ethraim Fearshaker first became interested in literature in the eighth grade, and throughout the years he has consistently compiled his work in hopes of getting them published. In "A Rose Grows O'er My Chest" (published by Xlibris) the author has achieved his dream and has created a collection of his favorite stories.

"A Rose Grows O'er My Chest" is a collection of Bible-based stories that predominantly follows the journey of the 12 apostles as they set out to spread the word of God. It shows how they struggled to do God's will and yet despite all the obstacles in their way they managed to succeed. The book is written predominantly in poetry and can also be considered a study in human behavior due to the many hardships they had to overcome and the inner strength that they had to find within themselves.

This book captures the essence of the Bible story and shows one man's great passion for the written word.
