Children, teenagers and even adults dream of playing a role in an epic fantasy where they can change the course of the world and step out of their own lives to fulfill their destinies. In his new book, author T.M. Krieg invites his readers to do just that, beckoning them to explore a realm of magic and mystery and embark on an adventure unlike any other. In "The Drake Epics," readers will join a relatable cast of protagonists who are plucked from the mundane world and thrown into the middle of a spectacle of sword and sorcery, a proverbial clash of the titans that will prove to be the ultimate test of the human spirit.

Set in the Middle East, the tale follows a boy named Ethan who struggles against monsters, mankind, the environment, and with his own growing pains. The story starts in modern-day Kurdistan, where he has been dragged by his family against his will, and where, inexplicably, he and his siblings are transported back through time into a strange land with exotic sights and intriguing customs, a realm where magic makes the impossible an everyday occurrence. There, in that place of untold splendors and unseen dangers, all they have is each other, and their beloved grandpa leads the way. Ethan and his family are then thrust to the forefront of an epic struggle between the forces of good and evil, and to prevail, they must forget their former lives and embark on a journey to save mankind from the chaos dragon, Tiamat.

"The Drake Epics: Journey to Qara" is filled with fast-paced action, mystery, intrigue, and self-discovery. It is a coming of age story with universal themes readers of all ages can relate to. Its message, of taking control of one's life to stand up against injustice, be it in the form of bullying or of the greater cruelties besetting the world today, are relevant to young and old alike, and make Krieg's tale a truly resonant work of fantasy.
